2008-2009 Audition Dates
Our productions employ professional adult actors; some productions include youth in appropriate roles. Youth may also gain stage experience through the School of Intensive Theatre Training program. Older students may also audition for the Ensemble Company (year-long, pre-professional theatre training). All auditions begin at 6:00 pm at ImaginOn (Ensemble auditions begin at 1:00 pm).

Audition details for Hamlet

Children’s Theatre of Charlotte will hold open auditions for Hamlet on Tuesday, January 13, at 6:00 pm at ImaginOn, 300 East Seventh Street, Charlotte, NC. Adult actors are needed for this Shakespeare classic that will tour CMS high schools. Roles are available for 3 adult males and 2 adult females. Actors should prepare a 1 or 2 minute classical monologue and bring a headshot and resume with them to the audition. Actors of diverse ethnic backgrounds are encouraged to audition. No appointments are necessary.

Adult roles are compensated at $455 per week. Daytime rehearsals will be held February 1-22 and the CMS tour will take place February 23-March 6. Hamlet will be directed by Matt Cosper.

Script Submissions
 At this time we are accepting new, previously unproduced plays (45 – 90 minutes) focused on ages 3-18 from literary agents. We are unable to accept unsolicited manuscripts. If you do not have an agent, you can send us a letter of inquiry along with a synopsis and a 10-page selection from the script. If the material interests us, we will contact you with a request for the complete script. Please note that lawyers and law firms do not qualify as "professional representation" in this venue.
